Clearing Browser Cache (Basic Guide)

Introduction

This article explains how to clear your browser cache to help resolve issues when using the MyConsumables web app. Clearing cache can fix display problems, slow loading, or outdated content.

Before you start

  • You must have access to the device and browser you use for MyConsumables

  • Use a supported web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari)

Step-by-Step Instructions by Device and Browser

Desktop / Laptop Browsers

Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome.

  2. Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.

  3. Go to More tools > Clear browsing data.

  4. Select Cached images and files.

  5. Click Clear data.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open Firefox.

  2. Click the menu button (three lines) in the top-right corner.

  3. Select Settings > Privacy & Security.

  4. Scroll to Cookies and Site Data and click Clear Data.

  5. Check Cached Web Content and click Clear.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Edge.

  2. Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.

  3. Select Settings > Privacy, search, and services.

  4. Under Clear browsing data, click Choose what to clear.

  5. Select Cached images and files and click Clear now.

Safari (Mac)

  1. Open Safari.

  2. Click Safari > Preferences from the top menu.

  3. Go to the Advanced tab and enable Show Develop menu in menu bar.

  4. From the top menu, click Develop > Empty Caches.

Mobile / Tablet Browsers

Chrome (iOS & Android)

  1. Open the Chrome app.

  2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right (Android) or bottom-right (iOS).

  3. Go to History > Clear Browsing Data.

  4. Select Cached images and files.

  5. Tap Clear Browsing Data.

Safari (iOS & iPadOS)

  1. Open Settings on your device.

  2. Scroll down and tap Safari.

  3. Tap Clear History and Website Data.

  4. Confirm by tapping Clear History and Data.

Firefox (iOS & Android)

  1. Open Firefox app.

  2. Tap the menu button (three lines).

  3. Go to Settings > Privacy > Clear Private Data.

  4. Check Cache.

  5. Tap Clear Private Data.

Tips / Best Practices

  • Restart the browser after clearing cache to apply changes.

  • Clearing cache does not delete your passwords or bookmarks.

  • Perform this regularly if you notice outdated content or display issues.

Troubleshooting / Common Issues

  • Still seeing old content: Refresh the page using Ctrl+F5 (Windows), Cmd+Shift+R (Mac), or reload the browser on mobile/tablet.

  • Clearing cache didn’t help: Try clearing cookies as well.
